hunting tools and game traps

Hunting tools are listed by example on the survival list.
This general category is#7 on the things which are likely to quickly disappear during a conflict situation.   When stores are empty and the trucks have stopped making deliveries to the grocery store, it is important to be able to procure more food.

HUNTING GEAR

Most pieces of equipment on this are for specialized hunting techniques.   The multi-tool is included both for its basic utility and for its ability to be used for repairing various types of equipment.

Trapping and hunting are skills and time should be spent familiarizing yourself with the best techniques and local regulations for this type of equipment usage.    In a true emergency you may find yourself learning as you go.   When arming a trap it is important not to place it where you will become the trapped animal, it is also important to set them properly so as to not inadvertantly injure oneself.

Baiting a trap should be done using foods that your target animal is likely to be interested in gathering.

A trap line can yield a significant amount of food and pelts if placed properly and is not very high maintenance although it is recommended that you keep detailed maps of where your traps are and use similar techniques in placement so that you do not ensnare yourself when checking back on the trapline after an extensive period of time.

Other modern pieces of equipment, which will not be mentioned here, are also available from internet suppliers.  This store contains traps, primitive hunting tools built with modern materials, snares and a couple of high utility multiple purpouse tools.

Note: Several items are out of stock from the merchandiser due to high demand.  We will update this when it becomes a higher priority, we're still in the process of upgrading site wide.  Thanks.

You should also check out the fishing section for items such as nets or basic fishing equipment, as this is essentially a modified form of hunting
