| Candles are a traditional and effective source of lighting and for storing flame. Emergency usage candles are not dependent on the power grid. With a good candle lantern, candles have long been used for a low tech form of mobile illumination. A candle can provide fire for starting larger fires, standing vigil, ceremonial usage and most importantly as a reuseable source of light.
