How to Make Flints

Flints are made through a process called knapping.  A flint knapper will use stones that chip readily and sharply.  Common materials used in knapping are flint, obsidian, shale, chalcedony and volcanic glass.

This series of videos will guide you through the process and techniques involved in using flint knapping to create primitive tools such as arrowheads, spear tips, scraping knives and survival knives.
