A rounded medical field kit contains surgical tools, first aid and high utility items.  Educational resources are also shown for those who may find it useful to develop a deeper understanding of skills such as field surgery when qualified personel aren't available.   We don't recommend doing your own surgery, of course, but in a survival situation local doctors may simply not be available.  Knowledge is power, use it wisely.

This fracture kit is of the durable and solid variety.  While having a disadvantage in bulk over air splints, these rigid splints are very durable and are resistant to further impact in a way that lighter air splints simply are incapable of.

 This classic volume is geared towards emt professionals, and assumes an above oriented level of preperation, skill and equipment at hand.  

This volume is great for anyone considering volunteer service in a remote area where a full hospital may not be available but some medical resources are, such as various third world locations.

 A dental reference targeting dentists working under less than ideal conditions. 

This book has all the essential information for diagnosing dental situations and performing relatively simple dental procedures.

If you think it is likely that dental services may not be fully available due to conditions, then this is a key resource that should be part of your survival literature.

QUICK CLOT

This product will seal blood vessels and should only be used in the most extreme emergencies.  This will buy you a brief amount of time to find a vascular surgeon to undo the mess this stuff makes.   It can keep you alive, but should be only used to resolve otherwise fatal injuries.  This stuff is not a toy, by the same token, it is extremely important to have if you feel that some form of emergency assistance may be available but will not be available fast enough.  

Field surgery kit.  This is a moderate size tool kit with scalpels, forceps and other surgical tools.   

If you are ever in a position where you need to utilize the surgical knowledge you have, then this is an excellent toolkit.  

Additionally surgical scalpels are very sharp precise instruments with a number of other uses.

Air splints are very lightweight and useful for quickly and firmly applying pressure to broken bones. 

They are easily packed in a backpack and can be invaluable if hiking in rugged terrain, in the event of an unforseen fall or other injury to the limbs.
